Why you should know what an 'economic management' professional is all about ...
This Substack blog is based on sustainable prosperity using an 'economic management' approach to seek and suggest solutions by recognition of the 'economic drivers' creating the observable outcomes
I think most people understand what an ‘economist’ does noting many people have taken a class in ‘economics’.
Most economists the public see regularly are ‘market’ watchers who report on the status of the markets in our economy and may expose financial trends that indicate where markets may go in the future.
Most people, however, most likely haven’t taken a class in management and thus lack the ‘tools’ if you will, to understand many of the economic topics in our political discourse. The common experience in management for most people in their daily lives is reporting to a ‘manager’ at their place of work.
Organizations, public and private, that are successful have 'good’ management practices either by maintaining developed targets for a given government program or profitability for a private enterprise.
My approach is this blog is to ‘unite’ these two disciplines into an effective combination of both ‘management’ tools and ‘economic’ principles to address our current problems and offer both an explanation of ‘why’ certain things in our economy are in ‘crisis’ mode and finding a solution based on addressing the ‘economic drivers’ in play.
This blog as it exists presents ‘topic’ based posts on various issues we find in our political discourse and presents ‘easy to understand’ explanations that take about 1 to 2 minutes to read for each of my post. I hopefully want these posts to present areas of possible solutions where the reader can begin to ‘ponder’ if our current leadership, both in public and private organizations, are doing things that actually ‘solve problems’ versus just ‘feeding’ them through the ‘tax’ base without understanding why such problems exists or are expanding in scope.
One of the main objectives for me as the poster at this Substack blog is to reduce the ‘research’ if you will in economics and management along with my own experience personally gained having owned and managed a business and watching thru the media the outcomes we see reported, and present it in an manner which can give the reader what I call ‘actionable intelligence’ information.
Thus, my goal is to reduce the volumes of ‘research’ buy various organizations and bring it down to understandable terms for the general public, the same people who walk into ‘booths’ wanting to believe the people they are voting for who are reciting their intentions in our political discourse actually have plans that are workable, and possibility previously implemented in test areas for the purpose of verifying their success.
Then, we can use the basic management strategies available to us to determine if the organization in question is meeting its objectives within budget for public organization and profitability hurdles including rates of return on investments for private businesses.
In closing, my posts are intended to expose the reader at an introductory overview level that is mostly missing from our political discourse, leadership recitals, or media reporting to provide the reader easy to grasp insights in the topic areas I’ve laid out in this blog. They are not meant to be exhaustive explanations, nor do they fully describe what a ‘solution’ may entail or how it may be implemented. The overall goal is for the reader to recognize at a high level the essence of various issues that are often never clearly presented by the sources I’ve previously mentioned in this post.
Note: the majority of links presented in this post are from Wikipedia if the reader wishes to explore the terms in greater depth to which I also recommend you have software that protects you from high-risk websites.
